A studio portrait of unidentified African American woman with her left side to the photographer staring out over an piece of paper in her hands as she sits in a ornate wicker chair. She wears a dark, square-neck full-length dress with gathered puffy half-sleeves, gathered cuffs, and gathered collar. Embossed below the photograph in decorative paperboard, "W [in embossed floral framing] R. M. Williams, Nashville."

No date; likely circa 1890s, 2 copies; copy 1 mounted to 4.25"x6.5" decorative paperboard; copy 2 mounted to 4"x5.5" paperboard. Handwritten on back in pencil, nearly illegible, "Miss L.B. [Chambers?] , Nashville, Tenn. c/o Miss M. Grigsby of Kansas City."
