A full body studio portrait of unidentified African American man standing by a chair with his right elbow resting on the stile. He wears a hat low on his forehead, a buttoned-up, small collar, long-sleeve shirt with armbands under a buttoned vest with a watch chain from the button loop to the right breast pocket. He wears a lapel pin and has, possibly, a writing utensil or rolled cigarette in his left breast pocket.
