The gate consists of dark walls, snow-white reliefs, golden capitals, and paintings representing "Tsardoms of the Russian Empire", coats of arms of Russian provinces, etc. with a double-headed eagle for Nicholas I's coronation. The structure is crowned by a golden statue of a trumpeting angel. A policeman stands guard in the square. A horse-drawn cart sits in the center of the square.
