Description
A man kneels on a pillow by a foldable book stand with an open book on it, in front of the two tombs in the interior view of the Sultan Mahmud II mausoleum, showing the tombs of Sultan Mahmud II and Sultan Abdulaziz I in Constantinople, Turkey. Tall brass candlesticks with tall candles in them are placed symmetrically around the tombs. An elaborate chandelier hangs above the tombs. Printed in handwritten white ink across the bottom of the photograph, "270. Tombeaux des Şultan Mahmoud ll et Abd-ųl-Aziz. Şébah & Joaillier."
