A photograph of the fish market in Bergen, Norway, back toward the harbor village. The city buildings line the wide dock and a few buildings stand up the sides of the mountain in the back of the photograph. Many, many people stand along the docks shopping at the stands or standing along the waterside looking down at the boats and ships docked there. A pier heads its way out to the water from the center of the photograph and to the left. The boats at the bottom of the photograph are overflowing with fish. Printed along the bottom in three different sections in white ink, "1768, Bergen, Fisketorvet," "Rich. Andvord, Eneret 1892," and "Axel Lindahl."
