Native woman from Bergen, Norway, stands looking directly at the camera, wearing traditional peasant clothing. The head covering, called a skaut, indicates that this woman is married. She carries a cylindrical box with a lid and a handle in her left hand. A backdrop is of mountains and a fjord. Printed in the margin below the photograph in script, "K. Nyblin." Printed in the margin below the photograph, "Eneret. Tovet 6 Bergen."
