Description
A panoramic photograph of a large group of Sinhalese people at the races in Sri Lanka [then Ceylon]. They are all turned toward the camera. Around the outside edge of the group are grass roofs supported by wooden poles. Embossed in the lower right-hand corner, "Apothecaries Co Ltd, Photographers, Colombo, Ceylon." Printed in black ink on the bottom left-hand corner, "Scowen."
