Description
Kandy Lake with the royal palace complex, containing Temple of the Tooth (Dalada Maligawa), in the background on the other side of the lake in Kandy, Sri Lanka [then Ceylon]. A Sri Lankan man on the right side of the photograph, walks along a sidewalk that runs by the lake. A few trees hang over the lake between the sidewalk and the lake. Embossed in the lower left -hand corner, "Apothecaries Co Ltd, Photographers, Colombo, Ceylon." Printed in white ink on the bottom left-hand corner, "Scowen."
