Description
Blues vocalist Valerie Wellington turns to look back and grin at her band while performing on the stage of the Grand Emporium in Kansas City, Missouri. Her band is comprised of three African American men who close their eyes as they play their instruments, and one Asian man (possibly) playing piano. A sign at the back of the stage above their heads reads, "Grand Emporium in Kansas City, Missouri." Printed on a label include with the photograph, "VALERIE WELLINGTON May '87."
