They are standing on railroad tracks, and facing scaffolding up to an antenna while playing in the Ninth Ward of New Orleans between St. Claude Street And The Mississippi River. R.L. Burnside, an African American blues guitarist, stands facing the photographer and smiling as he plays his guitar. Printed in the margin above the photograph, "R L Burnside with John Nerenberg."
