Description
Teacher Marylane Thorne standing between two hospital beds helping the boys in them to do their lessons. The boy in front of Thorne is African American, and the boy behind is white with eyeglasses. Both boys are in traction and are writing on a board propped in front of each of them. Two other, younger, African American boys are standing with Thorne between the hospital beds.
