Description
Governor Hearnes standing with his back to the camera and standing beside a car with an open door near a tent at the dedication ceremony for the new Children's Mercy Hospital building. Hearnes is shaking hands with an unidentified white man and other people, including a white woman (possibly the Governor's wife) and an African American man, can be seen around them. One white man at the far left is smoking a cigarette.
